Welcome

Welcome to the 2012 version of the Sturgeon Rural Crime Watch Association (SRCWA) web site. We are over 700 Sturgeon County residents making a difference in our area. We act as additional eyes and ears for the RCMP throughout Sturgeon County.

We hope you find the information here useful and if you are not already a member, we encourage you to read the information under the 'about us' link on the left and then join the more than 700 other active Crime Watch members here in Sturgeon County, Alberta.

In 2009 Sturgeon Rural Crime Watch Association celebrated serving the County for 25 years.

Please take a few minutes to explore our site. If you have comments or questions about our program, or simply need more information and want to contact us, click on this e-mail address: info@sturgeonruralcrimewatch.org

February 4, 2012 - Volunteer Workshop For Board Development

Sturgeon Rural Crime Watch hosted a Board Development Program Open Workshop at the Morinville Rendez-Vous Center Saturday, February 4th. Instructors from Alberta Culture and Community Spirit facilitated an excellent seminar on Board Development. Both instructors carefully laid down the many building blocks needed for an efficient and professional working board.

The all-day event hosted more than 30 people from the Strathcona Rural Crime Watch, Morinville Citizens On Patrol, Golden Spike Rural Crime Watch, Boyle/Grassland Rural Crime Watch, Rendez-Vous Center, Ladies Auxiliary and Legion and the Northern Alberta Amateur Radio Club. Although we had different community organizations attending, we found many similarities that we shared.

Thanks to our instructors, everyone left much better educated and many of the participants looking forward to the next workshop.

Our many thanks to the Heart & Sole Catering team who supplied us with delicious snacks and a great lunch.
