Residential Break & Enter

Greetings,
Please see the below fanout:

On Monday, April 17th between the hours of 10am to 4pm, a rural residential property along Rge Rd 273 near Gladeau Lake was broken into by unknown persons. A few items were stolen from the home and a detached garage before the suspect(s) departed, possibly in a white truck (no further description available). Luckily, nothing else was taken and there were no obvious signs of forced entry.

The following items were stolen:
  • 80" Sharp Aquos flat screen TV
  • iPad Air 64gb with Rogers wireless service
  • 16" Husqvarna chainsaw inside a sky blue hardcase
  •
Furthermore, approx. 2 weeks prior, the residents discovered a suspicious male lurking near their front door during the late afternoon. As their vehicles were not present out front, it gave the appearance that no one was home. Once challenged, the male indicated he was looking for someone particular. As the named person did not reside there, the male departed in an older late 90's champagne coloured SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer or similar. Although it's unknown if these two events are related, Police are concerned that person(s) may be targeting homes in advance.

The male is described as Caucasian, 30-35 years old, 6 ft tall, slender build, dirty blond hair, scruffy appearance, and wearing a Carhartt work jacket.

Morinville RCMP would like to remind all residents to be vigilant of any suspicious activity occurring in or around their homes, and to ensure all windows and doors are secured and covered to prevent easy viewing of property inside the home. Residents are encouraged to contact police to report any suspicious activity, and to keep their own safety in mind at all times.

Should anyone have any information pertaining to the above incidents, or the stolen property, please contact the Morinville RCMP at 780-939-4550 or 780-939-4520.

Theft of Truck and Trailer storage lot, Morinville

    Greetings,
    Please see the below fanout:

On April 8th, 2017 between the hours of 3:00am-4:30am, unknown person(s) broke into the secured lot at the Morinville Car Clinic, 9404 90th Avenue, Morinville.

A blue 2004 Ford F350 truck with AB licence plate PLB-891, along with a white 2007 Colorado 30' Travel Trailer with AB plate V77111 was stolen from the lot.

In exiting the yard, the suspect(s) drove through and damaged the fenced gate and were believed to be heading eastbound out of Morinville. It would appear that suspect(s) had targeted the lot and specific vehicles as they were not readily drive-able without preparation.

On April 12th, 2017 the truck was recovered by Barrhead RCMP, however, the licence plate (PLB-891) remains missing along with the Travel Trailer.

Although there are no suspects identified at this time, Morinville RCMP are requesting assistance from the public to provide any information that could lead to the recovery of the trailer, the missing licence plate, and the identities of any involved suspect(s).

Please contact Morinville RCMP at 780-939-4550 or 780-939-4520 with any information that could assist with this investigation.
