Hi Everyone,
It has been a great winter so far and I hope everyone has enjoyed the beautiful weather. Even seeing it snow again is a good thing.
As I told you in my January Feature, Robert, Ken , Carol, Herman, Viv and I would be attending the Provincial AGM and presenting three resolutions.
The first resolution, receiving a draft copy of minutes of the PAGM within a month of the meeting passed. Once I receive a draft copy of the minutes they will be available to whoever wants to read them. You will only need to contact me. Our second resolution that a procedure and fixed date for the resolutions be established was not passed. After the resolutions were presented and there was much discussion the board advised us that the date is in the policies not the bylaws. That being said we are currently reviewing the policies of the provincial board. The third resolution of having the provincial board organize and fund the PAGM did not pass either although it brought on the most discussion. To date no one has stepped forward to host the event for 2017.
There were very interesting and informative presenters and we received so much good information.

Ken reported that the casino was a great success and the members who worked at it are interested in working at the next one. We will receive the money from the casino in mid April. Our group will continue to work the casinos as they become available to us.
As you all know, the mail box thefts are continuing to increase – a reminder again to pick up your mail on a daily basis. This time of the year is great for the thieves. Everyone is receiving their income tax information and that provides a wealth of information for the thieves.
A reminder that our Annual General Meeting and Poster Contest Awards Night will be on Tuesday March 8th at the Rendez Vous Center in Morinville. Further information will be provided closer to the date. I would hope we have good attendance from our members.
If you have any questions or comments I would love to hear from you. Please contact me at: president@sturgeonruralcrimewatch.org
See you at the AGM and Poster Awards Night
