Hi Everyone,
The
following is an update since our last meeting in January.
My
first reminder is that the income tax season has started and I would remind you
to pick up your mail on a daily basis.
You have so much pertinent information in the mail that would be of
interest to thieves. Mailboxes continue
to be broken into and could possibly increase during this time of year.
We
update our memberships on a continual basis – if you know of any members who
are not receiving their emails please ask them to contact me at sturgeonrcwa@gmail.com.
They may have changed their email address and we have no way of knowing
that unless we are contacted.
You
will have noticed that one of our recent fan-outs was courtesy of a member. As
you would have seen in the fan-out, the member first reported the incident to
the RCMP. It is so helpful to have our
members email me with the information of any incidents or suspicious activity
that they see. Working together and
being the eyes and ears of all the communities will make us all safer. It is our purpose to work with the RCMP and
this is a great way of doing it.
The following are a number of upcoming events;
Tuesday
March 14, is our Annual General Meeting being held 7 p.m. at the Provincial
Building in Morinville. Any of our
members who are interested are welcome to attend.
Tuesday
April 4, is the Poster Contest Awards Night.
It will be held at the Rendezvous in Morinville - the doors open at 6
p.m. and the program will begin at 6:30.
Tuesday
April 11, is our regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. at the Provincial Building
in Morinville.
Friday
April 21 and Saturday April 22 is the Morinville Trade Show. There will be more information to follow.
Tuesday
May 9th our regular monthly meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the
Protective Services Building at 54509 RR 252 south of Highway 37. It is home to
Enforcement Services, Animal Control and the District of Namao Fire
Department. This is a great opportunity
for any County residents to come and tour the facility and see what is
provided. There will be staff available
to give tours and answer any questions you might have.
Thursday
June 8 – is the Sturgeon County Open House – our table is booked and the open
house is on from 2 – 7 p.m.
Tuesday
June 13 is our regular monthly meeting to be held at 7 p.m. at the Provincial
Building in Morinville.
We
will forward more information regarding these and other events as we receive
it.
