The
Morinville RCMP would like to make the public aware of a string of fuel
thefts that have occurred in the Morinville and Sturgeon County area in
recent weeks. The RCMP have investigated a series of fuel thefts where
the suspects used a power drill to drill out the bottom of the plastic
fuel tanks of parked cars. The thieves then filled out gas cans and
leave the area.
RCMP
would like to encourage citizens to be vigilant and park their
vehicles in well lit areas, in areas with good video surveillance or to
park them inside locked garages. RCMP would also like to remind the
public that if they observe activity that appears suspicious then they
should contact the police.
