Athabasca and Desmarais RCMP arrest three for outstanding warrants and stolen property
Calling Lake, Alberta – Our coordinated and intelligence-led Crime Reduction Strategy enables the RCMP to identify crime hotspots and target the repeat offenders responsible for the majority of the crime in our communities.
On June 30, 2018, at approximately 11:40 a.m., Athabasca RCMP attended a residence in Calling Lake, Alberta and arrested Greg Cardinal (40) without incident for outstanding warrants. The following charges have been laid:
· Assault
· Mischief
· Criminal harassment
· Forcible entry
· Possession of stolen property (X2)
He was taken before a Justice and released with court conditions and is set to appear in Athabasca Provincial Court on July 23, 2018.
On July 4, 2018, at approximately 5:00 a.m., Athabasca and Demarais RCMP attended a residence in Calling Lake, Alberta and arrested Lindsie Bigstone (30) without incident for outstanding warrants. The following charges have been laid:
· Aggravated assault
· Assaulting a peace officer
· Resisting arrest
· Fail to comply with Recognizance (X4)
He was remanded into custody and will be appearing Athabasca Provincial Court on July 9, 2018.
On July 4, 2018, Athabasca and Demarais RCMP were completing a targeted patrol in Calling Lake and located a vehicle parked in a field. When police approached, one male fled the scene and a female remained with the vehicle, which was previously reported stolen.
Police arrested Sophia Thomas (31) without incident for possession of stolen property. Several items located in the vehicle were also reported stolen. She was taken before a Justice and released with court conditions and is set to appear in Athabasca Provincial Court on July 23, 2018. The male involved with this incident is still being sought by police.
