SRCWA #2016045 - Theft From Motor Vehicles

THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLES - STOLEN VEHICLE

Between April 3rd, 2016 and April 5th, 2016, Morinville RCMP responded to a few complaints in the town of Legal including a Sport Utility vehicle being stolen.  Shortly after, Police received another call where items were stolen from various vehicles.  These incidents seem to have occurred overnight.

At this point, the files are still under investigation and there are no suspects.

The RCMP recommend owners remove any valuable items out of view and to not keep a second set of keys within the vehicle that can be easily located.

Thieves mostly target vehicles when they are able to see items inside. Items such as: Loose change, sun glasses, personal documents, wallets and purses are just some of the attractive items that increase your risk of being the victim of this type of crime.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Morinville RCMP Detachment at 780-939-4550 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
